About

TrailBox started as a shared notes doc between a few friends who kept recommending games to each other. We were tired of downloading something on a train, hitting a login wall, and finding out it needed a constant connection. So we made a small site about games that just work when you're offline.,We buy or download every game ourselves and play it for a few days before writing anything. If a game claims to be offline but nags you to reconnect every ten minutes, we say so. If a puzzle game gets boring after level twenty, we say that too.,Our picks lean toward variety. You'll find slow strategy games next to quick arcade runners, cozy simulators next to story-heavy RPGs. The one rule: it has to be genuinely playable without a signal.,Nobody pays us to feature a game. The catalog is small on purpose — we'd rather write ten honest reviews than three hundred padded ones.

Lukas Hoffmann — Lukas has been reviewing mobile games for about eight years and still keeps a drawer of old phones for testing. He handles most of the RPG and strategy coverage.
