Stretching your battery during a long offline session

August 17, 2026 · Lukas Hoffmann

Offline gaming and long trips go together, which makes battery your biggest limitation. A few habits genuinely double how long you can play.

Brightness is the number one drain. Drop it to the lowest comfortable level, especially with dark or moody games where you won't even notice.

Airplane mode helps more than people think — your phone stops burning power hunting for signal. That alone is worth flipping on even beyond the offline requirement.

Close background apps, turn off haptics if you don't need them, and lower the frame rate cap in games that offer it. None of this hurts the experience much, and together they add up to a lot of extra playtime.
